Lily Gladstone wins the Best Female Actor in a Leading Role at the SAG Awards 2024.

Lily Gladstone achieved a historic milestone by securing the Best Female Actor in a Leading Role at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards for her performance as Mollie Burkhart in "Killers of the Flower Moon," directed by Martin Scorsese.

This victory marked her as the first Indigenous actor to win in this esteemed category, portraying a pivotal character in the 1920s systematic assassination of the Osage people.

Presented by Jessica Chastain, Gladstone expressed pride in her fellow actors, emphasizing solidarity following Hollywood strikes in the past year. On stage, she acknowledged the privilege of being an actor, emphasizing the power of storytelling to bring empathy and visibility to marginalized narratives.

Using both she/they pronouns, Gladstone encouraged the audience to continue telling stories, extending this message to those with voices and stories that need to be heard. She recognized the compassionate souls in the room, thanking storytellers for speaking their truths and advocating for each other.

This win adds to Gladstone's historic awards season, including her Golden Globe triumph for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, making her the first Indigenous actor to achieve such recognition in the ceremony's 81-year history. Additionally, she is the first Native American actor nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category.
