"Wizards of Waverly Place" enthusiasts, brace yourselves for a magical comeback as the beloved sibling duo, Alex and Justin Russo, played by Selena Gomez and David Henrie, are set to return in the pilot of the show's anticipated sequel, aptly titled "Wizards."


Confirming the excitement, Disney Branded Television revealed that Gomez and Henrie would serve as executive producers, with Gomez making a guest appearance and Henrie taking on the role of Justin on a regular basis. 

Joining the familiar faces are new cast members, including Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos, adding fresh dynamics to the enchanting world of Waverly Place.

The sequel unfolds the story of Justin, who abandons his magical life at WizTech to pursue a normal family life. However, the narrative takes a turn when a formidable young wizard seeks Justin's guidance, compelling him to confront his magical past for the sake of the Wizard World's future.

Penned by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, the creative minds behind the "That's So Raven" reboot, the pilot promises a blend of nostalgia and fresh perspectives. Selena Gomez, expressing her excitement on Instagram, shared a throwback photo with Henrie, captioned "We're back," and enthusiastically embraced the news of the sequel's confirmation.


With Disney Channel and Henrie teasing fans on Instagram with glimpses of the pilot script, the anticipation builds for the return of the Russos to our screens in 2024, bringing back the magic that captured hearts over a decade ago.
