'Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, featuring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, has marked its debut on the OTT platform. The dystopian action spectacle, directed by Prashanth Neel, commenced its Netflix streaming journey on January 20, but there's a twist.
The film is accessible in four languages on the OTT platform: Telugu (original), Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. Surprisingly, the Hindi version is yet to make its OTT appearance, leaving Hindi enthusiasts in anticipation.
The release date for the Hindi version remains undisclosed, and it's uncertain whether it will hit Netflix, especially given the absence of Hindi mentions in the Netflix trailer.
History has witnessed instances where different language versions of a film found their way to distinct platforms. Take, for instance, Kantara, a Kannada blockbuster that grossed over ₹400 crore, releasing on Amazon Prime Video for Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, while the Hindi version premiered on Netflix. Notably, both Salaar and Kantara are products of Hombale Films.
Hombale Films' previous venture, K.G.F. Chapter 1, directed by Prashanth Neel, is available in Kannada and Hindi on Amazon Prime Video, with the Bengali version on Disney+ Hotstar. However, K.G.F. Chapter 2 is streaming across all languages on Amazon Prime Video.
