"Prabhas' latest cinematic spectacle, 'Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire,' has stormed the domestic box office, poised to conquer the monumental Rs 150 crore milestone. With an electrifying Rs 90.70 crore on its opening day and an estimated Rs 55 crore on its first Saturday, the film is tantalizingly close to breaching the Rs 150 crore mark, according to the film trade portal Sacnilk.
This action-packed saga, spearheaded by Prabhas, sets its ambitious sights on surpassing the coveted Rs 200 crore landmark in the Indian box office arena. Emerging as the reigning champion of 2023, Salaar eclipses the debut earnings of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan,' 'Jawan,' and the recent release 'Dunki.'
While Salaar amassed Rs 90.70 crore on its premiere, 'Pathaan' secured Rs 57 crore, 'Jawan' garnered Rs 75 crore, and 'Dunki' amassed a total of Rs 29.20 crore on its opening day. This victory extends beyond these feats, triumphing over other notable releases such as 'Adipurush,' 'Leo,' and 'Animal.' 'Adipurush' raked in Rs 86.75 crore, 'Leo' secured Rs 64.80 crore, and 'Animal' amassed Rs 63.80 crore on their respective opening days.
Not only did Salaar captivate the box office, but it also drew in a substantial audience, selling a whopping 18.93 lakh tickets across national multiplex chains from 12,959 screenings. The film witnessed staggering ticket sales across renowned chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, collectively amassing millions in revenue, as per film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.
The movie's triumph transcended borders, making a commendable $4.72 million at the North American box office, edging closer to the monumental $5 million threshold. Movie distributor Prathyangira Cinemas celebrated this achievement on social media, heralding Salaar's blockbuster success.
Receiving accolades from both fans and critics alike, Salaar garnered praise for Prabhas' exceptional performance and director Prashanth Neel's visionary direction. Fans lauded the adrenaline-pumping action sequences, direction, and dialogue delivery, hailing Prabhas' embodiment of the role.
